for helping us celebrate our 2nd Anniversay.

of the support and good wishes!
We are starting a new block challenge on May 1st. This will be a Red, White, and Blue challenge, but with a bit of a twist. We have 5" squares of red and blue for you to choose from. The challenge is that if you pick a red square, you will need to make a blue & white block with just a little bit of red in it. If you choose a blue square, you will need to make a red & white block with just a little bit of blue in it. The blocks need to be 12 1/2" unfinished (to finish at 12") and they need to be turned in by 4 pm on July 4th. We will draw the winners at 4pm on July 4th.
May Events:
Friday, May 3rd - UFO Club Meeting & Sew Day
This is our 3rd meeting and we are excited to see all of the quilt projects you are getting finished. We will meet from 10am - 12pm for show and tell. Anyone wishing to stay and work on their UFO projects are welcome to stay until 5pm and sew.
Saturday, May 4th - Christmas Block of the Month
We will meet from 10am - 12pm. The classroom will be available to anyone wishing to stay until 5pm and work on their blocks.
Wednesday, May 8th - Birthday Potluck and Open Sew
We will celebrate May Birthdays, eat and sew from 10am - 5pm.
We have Open Sewing every Wednesday from 10am - 5pm.
Friday, May 10th - Brown Bag Friday Nite Open Sew
We have open sewing on the 2nd Friday night of each month. Bring your dinner and join us from 5pm - 10pm. There is no charge for this.
Tuesday, May 14th - "Little Things" Little Wallet
 On the 2nd Tuesday of each month we have a "Little Things" class. The cost is $8 and that includes a kit with some of the supplies you will need. May's Little Thing class is a Little Wallet. The kit will include the pattern, fusible interfacing, and the snap enclosure. The class is from 10am - 2pm. Please sign up and get your supply list.
Thur, Fri & Sat, May 16, 17, & 18 - Appli-K Party
 This is a 3 day retreat taught by Cinda Olsen. There is a large version (shown) and also a smaller version. This is a machine applique technique. The cost of the Party is $120 and the class will be from 10am - 5pm each day. We will be serving breakfast goodies and lunch each day.
Thursday, May 23,30, June 6, 13,20 - Beginning Quilt Making
In this 5 week class taught by Pauline Short, all steps in making a quilt will be taught. The finished project will be a table topper. The cost is $60 and the class is from 10am - 2pm.
Monday, May 27th - Memorial Day Open Sew
We will be open from 10am - 5pm on Memorial Day and we will have an Open Sew day. Please call and reserve a spot. There is no charge, but we need to know how many will be using a sewing machine and how many will be doing handwork so that we will have enough tables for everyone. Blue Iris will be serving a lite lunch that day.
