Happy Summer to everyone.
Our Red, White, & Blue block challenge is underway
and we have some great blocks turned in already.
This is a Red, White, and Blue challenge, but with a bit of a twist. We have 5" squares of red and blue for you to choose from. The challenge is that if you pick a red square, you need to make a blue & white block with just a little bit of red in it. If you choose a blue square, you need to make a red & white block with just a little bit of blue in it. The blocks need to be 12 1/2" unfinished (to finish at 12") and they need to be turned in by 4 pm on July 4th. We will draw the winners at 4pm on July 4th.
June Events:
Friday, June 7th - UFO Sew Day (no meeting) from 10am - 5pm
Wednesday, June 12th - Birthday Potluck & Open Sew
We have Open Sewing every Wednesday from 10am - 5pm
Friday, June 14th - Brown Bag Open Sew. 5pm - 10pm
Bring your dinner and come sew with us for the evening.
Saturday, June 15th or Tuesday, June 18th - Scarlett Rose will be teaching a Celtic Pillow featuring Twilling. The cost is $30 and she will have kits with all you need for $25. The times are 10am - 4pm both days. This is a one day class, you choose which day you wish to attend.
Monday, June 17th - Little Things - Your choice between 2 very cute pillows. One has a spider web design and the other is a patchwork. Both pillows have a zippered back. The cost is $8 and that includes a kit. (This class is normally held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, but we had a conflict this month and had to change it to Monday)
Thur, Fri, & Sat, June 26th, 27th & 28th - Buggy Barn Party - A 3-day retreat. This "party" is full, but please sign up on our waiting list for the next Buggy Barn Party.
JULY DATES:
THURSDAY, JULY 4TH - Open Sew
We will be open from 10am - 5pm on JULY 4TH and we will have an Open Sew day. Please call and reserve a spot. There is no charge, but we need to know how many will be using a sewing machine and how many will be doing handwork so that we will have enough tables for everyone.
Blue Iris will be serving a lite lunch that day.
(I know that I forgot on Memorial Day, but I will definiately be serving lunch this time.)
