SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER NEWS FROM BLUE IRIS QUILT SHOP

I can not believe that it has been nearly 2 months since I sent out my last newsletter.  In retrospect, it just means that we have been very, very busy here at Blue Iris and that is thanks to all of you!  The last newsletter was before the North State Quilt Jamboree, which was a huge success for a 1st year venture!  We are already planning for next year so that in itself is a good thing!  You won't want to miss it next year so SAVE THE DATES:  Friday 9/23 & Saturday 9/24, 2016.

Summer has just flown by and while I did not do any canning this year, I bombarded our Wednesday ladies with lots of veggies from our garden!  So much so, that I think they were getting tired of  it....LOL! So my last big harvest, I took to the ladies at the Tri Counties bank!  I love all the fresh veggies but a person can only do so much with them!  I must say, with fall right around the corner, the garden is not producing as much as it was, and for me that's a good thing!  Not to dispair though, the pomagranates are right around the corner and I have a very prolific tree, so I will share some more goodies this fall!

I don't know how it happened, but the North State River Run is next week................YIKES!  So this week will be another week of hurrying and scurrying to get my act together so all of you will have a grand time!  Passports are now available at Blue Iris if you want to pick them up early.  Remember we are open from 9am to 7pm all four days, Wed. September 9th thru Sat. the 12th!  Come join us for some fun!

We had some great classes going on the last few months and we still have more coming up. Just to let you know what some of the new ones coming up are,  I'll tell you about them.  Remember though, that even though I list them here in the newsletter, you still need to check the website calendar to see if something else gets added.  That happens all the time!

Quilters Academy - Freshman Year (1-4pm) w/ Margie McGraw - 9/3, 9/17, 10/1,10/15 & 10/22
Quilters Academy- Sophmore Year (5:30-9:00pm) w/Margie McGraw - same dates as Freshman Yr.

Lonestar with a Twist - 10am-4pm -  9/8, 9/15,9/22 & 9/29 with Marty Beyer...There is still 1 opening available in this class due to a cancellation. 

North State River Run - 9/9 thru 9/12 - 9am to 7pm all 4 days

UFO Club - 9/14  and 10/5 - 10am to ?

For those of you who don't know, Jill Schumacher is an award winning machine quilting Artist, Author and Teacher, both Nationally and Internationally.  This is an exclusive workshop that is being held here at Blue Iris Quilt Shop and you do not want to miss out. You don't want to be left out of this wonderful opportunity to learn, improve and perfect your machine quilting skills!  This class is for all levels of quilters, beginners thru advanced,  You don't have to have prior machine quilting skills to participate in this great class; using your own home sewing machine! Ten Weeks of Christmas with Pauline and Natalie
Pauline and Natalie will be teaching a series of classes over 10 weeks with a new project every week  (10am-1pm).  Each class will cost $5.00...you can sign up for all of them or one of them or whatever class you would like to take.  As always, they will be fun classes and have you ready for Christmas day in no time!  Schedule and projects follow:
