APRIL/MAY NEWS FROM BLUE IRIS QUILT SHOP
First, let me apologize for being so late with this newsletter. I can't believe that the last time I did one, was March 10th! I swear that the time just keeps going by faster and faster or maybe I'm just getting slower and slower (notice I did NOT say older!) LOL
We've been very busy at Blue Iris and that makes me a very happy camper. We had our Bunny Hop in March along with Stitch by Stitch and The Sewing Room and it was a huge success. Everyone who participated had a great time and we had a lot of really cute and creative bunnies to show off. We also had a lot of great classes going on in March and April so the creativity was definitely flowing here at the shop.
Going into May, we continue forward with more fun and creative classes and it's not to late to sign up for some of them. We had some fun fabric lines that have come in and also a lot of new Batiks and the shelves are filling up! Additionally, we've brought in more pre-cuts to help out with those fast and quick quilt tops we all love to do!
If you visit our website, you will notice that our page has changed. We made this change so our site would be more responsive when people search for quilt shops in our area. Now we are the 1st one listed on Google when searching for shops near Redding and no matter whether you're using a lap top, a tablet an Ipad, or your phone, the content on our site will look the same. In other words, you will see our entire site no matter what size screen your looking at. Exciting stuff in the technical world.............just sayin! We are still making some changes so bear with us during our construction period. Another exiciting bit of trivia that excites me, is Blue Iris just hit 600 "Likes" on Facebook............Ya Hoo!
SAVE THE DATE for North State River Run which will be September 9, 10, 11 and 12, 2015. Thirteen different shops will be participating again this year and all shops will be open from 9am to 7pm. More information will be following as the time gets closer.
We all know how the rumor mill works, so with that in mind, here is another date that you may also want to keep open: July 17th and 18th. Some of you have probably heard that Stitch by Stitch, The Sewing Room and Blue Iris are working together to put together an event that we are calling, The North State Quilt Jamboree. We are feverishly looking for Teachers/Lecturers and Vendors for this event. We are excited and will be sharing more information with all of you as we have more information to share. Most important for now is to keep these dates open. We suspect that this will be our 1st annual and that each year will be better and better................so please stay tuned for more info!
One other event that is coming up the end of June is the Row by Row Experience that Blue Iris participated in last year. This event is for travelers during the summer and covers most of the US states and several provinces in Canada. It was fun last year and we are looking forward to it being bigger and better this year and more info will follow on this as the time gets closer.
But wait.....there's more! Blue Iris is hosting a Summer Block Challenge: A Salute to Red, White and Blue! All Blocks must be 12 1/2", the Block must be a STAR of your choice and it must contain the RED fabric provided by Blue Iris. You can sign up for this at anytime you are in the store.... all Blocks must be turned into Blue Iris by June 30th, 2015. The number of winners will depend on how many blocks get turned in...................soooooooooooo, stop by and sign up to participate in this fun event!
