July 8th, 2015
I am late in getting this newsletter out, but no excuses as to why! Things are still hopping here at Blue Iris and each day we are grateful for our valued customers and friends who choose to come in and spend time with us!
I want to congratulate the SUMMER BLOCK CHALLENGE winners: Marcia Brasil, Melissa Markee, Linda Caton, Karla Ferrier, and Debbie Spies, in that order! Thanks to all the ladies, gents and children (yes, Jordan made one of those blocks!) who participated and graciously donated their time, material and creativity for the Star Blocks each winner was able to pick nine blocks to make a lap quilt with. Now we just have to wait to see the finished product! Again, thanks to everyone who participated in this challenge!
The Row by Row Shop Hop started on June 21st and runs through Sept. 8th, 2015 .required! We have had many Rowers stopping by to either pick up the Free Pattern , or purchase our Kit which includes our Pattern, Fabric and License Plate at a purchase price of $15.99, while others are just collecting the License Plates which are available to purchase for $5.00. Last year was a blast and we met so many new friends from all over the United States. This year there are a lot more shops participating and we are sure this year's Row by Row Shop Hop will be even better! Remember the 1st person to get 8 different rows from 8 different participating Quilt Shops and gets it put together (quilted, bound and label) and is the 1st person to get it turned in to a participating shop will win 25 Fat Quarters!!! If you happen to be the 1st person at our shop (and no, we have not had a winner yet...just sayin'!) and our row is in your quilt, you will also get a $25.00 Gift Certificate! Our row, which is aptly titled "Rails on the River", designed by Natalie Larson, is on display in the shop.
Our next Event is the North State Quilt Jamboree that is being sponsored by Blue Iris, StitchbyStitch and The Sewing Room. This iis bound to be a fun event for all and it is just around the corner, Friday and Saturday, July 17th and 18th. If you are planning on attending classes, you need to get signed up for classes and lectures ASAP.
